Devki Bai: Struggle, Courage, and Women's Leadership

Devki Bai is a resident of Village Jargaon, Chhura Block, Gariyaband. Initially shy, she found the courage to share her problems in a women's meeting. With organizational support, her issue was resolved within fifteen days—and nearly twenty other women also found solutions.

She went on to advocate in Gram Sabha and fought for legal ownership of land her family had long occupied, facing pressure and social boycott. She also helped rescue a domestic violence survivor to the Sakhi Centre in Gariyaband, where justice was secured.

Today she supports access to ration cards, pensions, and schemes, and plays an active leadership role in Sangwari Mahila Manch.
